Commenced the filming last night. Didn't go super well. Initial problems with lighting and other crap. Trying it again today with a few toddlers. Hopefully.

here are rhys and gus. best friends and master block stackers on the set of the upcoming instructional bread making film. 

 

 

merry christmas from the bearfins

merry christmas from all of the bearfins.  we managed to fill the season with almost every ny activity possible...  the tree at rockefeller center, santaland, the christmas windows on 5th avenue, fao schwartz and nature brought us a heavy snow last week that lasted through christmas day.  crafting even occurred despite the flu and a week of wretched night float.

stockings...rhys' was done already from last year but we added john's and mine.

 

 

and a quilt for the baby boy.  i mean quilt in the loosest sense.  two pieces of fabric sewn together.  but comfy and he loved it.

 

we spent christmas eve with our friends jeff, amy and gus.  christmas day was with melissa, chad and jasper.  dara came over last night after a 10 hour day in the bellevue emergency room to watch some charlie brown christmas and share in a christmas meal.

 

we think the baby boy had a wonderful day.

the baby boy made his astronaut debut at the stuyvesant town halloween party.  his get up is silver lame held together with hot glue. helmet was not tolerated.

finally! bearfins complete a project.  the elephant in the room was unfinished for months and slow going given our lack of incredible craft drive a la matsutake.  here are the stages:

 

lumpy paper mache.  later john realized it might be better to not have soggy newspaper involved.  drier is better.

drying out the sog.

polka dots. later regretted.  a thought of elephants on skis.

finally, elephant on rockers.  gifted to adam, grace, isaac and hannah doi on our trip to california.
